Help finding best research resources

I'm very interested in technical trading but get overwhelmed by the number and variety of stocks AND i'm a very new trader. I'm thinking a good strategy would be to search for stocks who are or might become "active" during the day and then analyze them for breakouts potential etc.

Does anyone have any tips for where to research potential stock plays? I know there are newsletters and sites, but where should I start?

Go to Stocktwits and search for stocks that are "trending". Trending on social media, not trending in the sense of it having momentum (although the 2nd type of "trending" would be a plus.)
