Safer trading w/Oscillators?..

One of the things that I used to do when trading was use oscillators to time my entries like MACD. I was thinking about this today, how it probably helped my trading because I'd wait for the entry rather than just buy on my other indicators. (http://forecasting.freehostia.com/?p=28).

oscillators are good in trading ranges, but give very bad signals in a trending scenario.

Yeah, I'd agree in a way, in my experience if you tried to trade them up/down in a trending scenario, you tend to lose if you trade the against the trend.

I agree. When I trade futures in a rangebound (non-trending) market I use Boll bands and stochs more often.

I usually ignore stochs in a trending mkt.
