Do you know if this change will have any impact in sites with custom master pages, created using the design manager? I have some sites where I applied branding, and extended the CSS linking CSS files in the master pages, and I'm wondering if this change will have any impact under this scenario..

As long as you’re still using CssLink and CssRegistration controls and they’re loading init.js, you should be fine. It sounds like you may be adding some CSS links to your master page. If so, you should be fine. Direct loading of non-themable CSS should also be unaffected, though CssRegistration controls would be preferred for files loaded from SharePoint.

Does this help answer your question?

My production tenant is not in First Release but I have a test tenant setup for First Release. How can I determine when the update has been pushed to my First Release test tenant? I would like to run a few tests to confirm that my sites are not impacted.
