    Compensation for rail delay

Wife had pre booked her journey to Leicester on Monday Oct 30 to catch the 12.21 from her local station to London St Pancras and onward to Leicester and due to arrive at Leicester at 15.00.She eventually got the 14.24 train from our local station and arrived at Leicester at 17.00 a delay of 2 hours. We applied for a delay repay payment and have been offered about 8 and was told the decision approved a delay of 30-59 minutes. How they got to those figures is beyond me.We still have the tickets.Does anyone know if there is a way of appealing against this decision. There was a problem on the line that day due I believe to a broken down train and several trains were cancelled and others delayed.Any advice would be much appreciated and if you need any more info just ask.Thank's

Each train operating company has its own rules, so if you can't figure it out via the link above you'll need to tell us which company(ies) are involved.
