    Default Crisis of Capitalism 'illlustrated'

    11minute 11 seconds

This makes sense to me. No real answers in the end but the problem of crisis of capitalism is well 'illustrated' IMO

To find a solution, one must first define the problem.

Compared to what?? All the socialist success stories? Every penny earned anywhere is earned through capitalism---it's just a matter of where. Is capitalism open to the folks at the bottom, or just the highest government officials? You don't see how the more we embrace socialism and forced re-distribution of wealth, the poorer we become as a nation? How much more proof do you need? Now wealth is reserved to the few that can manipulate the system.

For 2011 there are 19 30 countries ahead of the US in quality of life

oops ETA should have blown up the fine print -- old eyes aren't good at fine print

several of which are quite socialist.....but I am not advocating socialism

"The Quality of Life Index (QLI) is an attempt to quantify a nation’s livability for its average inhabitant. It is a composite of six sub-indexes, each describing one of the elements which objectively influence the quality of life: health, education, wealth, democracy, peace and environment."

This is laughable! This is similar to the WHO's healthcare ratings in which Cuba came in ahead of the US, as Michael Moore will tell you. Clearly, what a preposterous claim! Of course, when one actually looks at the details it is really like Burger King sponsoring a flame broiled contest judged by BK; let me guess who wins that one! Such qualifications like whether or not rich people are able to pay for experimental procedures, judged better if all are allowed to die rather than a rich one able to pay for an experimental procedure and live. Would any sane person believe both dying is better? Michael Moore and the WHO would tell you it is. Then let each country come up with their own system of counting baby deaths such that they can alter the qualifications to better suit the desired results.
Did you seriously just quote something showing Greece with a better quality of life than the US? That is freaking hysterical? Have you seen any news in the last few years about Greece? Clearly this quality of life takes no consideration of longevity or feasibility or real economic disasters, apparently a country being bankrupt like the Socialist state of California plays no role in the "quality of life" that question must have been omitted accidentally from the quiz/study criteria.
Was this supposed to be in the humor section? I thought jokes were only allowed in there!?

Pretty hard to argue against subjective data points....I'm curious though---if you attack Capitalism and free market dynamics, and you don't advocate Socialism, what do you propose? Maybe a world wide economy based on your neighborhood food co-op?
"The problem with Socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money" (M. Thatcher)
"Everyone complains about the weather. It takes a liberal to try to legislate it" (Not sure who said it but I'd like to buy her/him a drink)
“It's not that our liberal friends are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so.” (R. Reagan)
