How difficult is it to trade profitably and consistently over the long term

I am new to trade market...can anyone please explain me How difficult is it to trade profitably and consistently over the long term....

It's very difficult.

Very, very difficult. The stock market will chew you up and spit you out. I've been trading for over 10 years, I've seen many come and go. Also, it's very easy to get lucky a few times and think you're good. Luck runs out though.
