PCLN has had a phenomenal run lately and the chart looks very similar to AAPL of about 2 weeks ago. Since then AAPL has had some sideways consolidation an I would expect PCLN to do the same over the next 1-2 weeks.

This is a perfect time to enter some Apr Bear Call Spreads at around 790-800. Or if you wanted some variation, you could try the weekly options around 760-770.

The stock showed buying strength all day. The stock is on the verge of breaking out and it could happen very soon. Once the stock breaks $18.59, jump in and watch DRIV take off. The technical indicators are supporting the bullishness. The MACD triggered a buy signal today showing a bullish direction short term and the Histogram turned positive on the daily. In addition, KD is now going up and the stock closed again above the 20 day moving average. So, keep DRIV on your radar!

myris Inc shares gained more than 7 percent, closing near its highs of the day on strong volume. The stock broke through resistance and out of flag formation. Looks good to go here. Its technical chart show some bullish signals as both MACD and KD are now going up and the stock breaks above the 20 day moving average. The recent insider buying of 31.000 shares at 5.78 is also another positive indication that the insiders are now bullish about the company. Next resistance is now seen at $6.69.

National Association of Realtors reported pending home sales dipped slightly in February as its pending home sales index fell to 96.5% during March from a revised 97.0% in January, although it's still 9.2 percentage points above its year-ago level. "The spring home buying season looks bright because of an elevated level of contract offers so far this year. If activity is sustained near present levels, existing-home sales will see their best performance in five years," said Lawrence Yun, NAR's chief economist. By region pending home sales: rose 6.5%% in the Midwest, dropped 3.0% in the South, fell 2.6% in the West and fell 0.6% in the Northeast. A sale is listed as pending when the contract has been signed but the transaction has not closed while not all contracts lead to closings.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said Monday improvement in the nation?s labor market since last fall may only be a reversal of large layoffs that hit during the recession, and further improvement may depend on faster economic growth. ?We cannot yet be sure that the recent pace of improvement in the labor market will be sustained,? said Bernanke in a speech to the National Association of Business Economics. Fed Boss said that weak demand is the primary factor behind the weak labor market, not structural issues like lack of employment skills in the workforce. ?What will lead to more hiring and, consequently, further declines in unemployment? The short answer is more-rapid economic growth,? Bernanke said. Bernanke and his allies at the Fed have said they expect rates to remain near zero until late in 2014 and while the drop in the unemployment rate was good news, it seemed somewhat out of sync with the overall pace of growth.

On Monday, the Securities and Exchange Commission charged medical device firm Biomet Inc. with violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act for bribing public doctors in Argentina, Brazil, and China. The SEC said the company continued to break the law for about a decade and was designed to win it more business. Biomet will pay more than $22 million in order to settle the charges. "Biomet's compliance and internal audit functions failed to stop the payments to doctors even after learning about the illegal practices," the SEC said. The SEC alleges that employees and managers at all levels were involved in the scheme, along with its distributors.

Abnormal Returns

The U.S. markets awoke on Monday morning to find Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke giving a speech on the economy. Any speech where he leaves the possibility of more QE (quantitative easing) on the table helps the markets jump. Today was no different. The futures took off as he spoke, surging off of the worst week in the markets since December 2011. This was a classic chess move to help the markets survive and stay afloat. While off the highs, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSEARCA:SPY) is trading at $140.96, +1.27 (+0.91%).

At every turn, Ben Bernanke refuses to take more QE off the table, regardless of the economic strength. Investors continue to believe he will juice the markets like a addict with drugs. However, the duration of each market pop is getting shorter and shorter. In other words, there is a diminishing return to the word of Bernanke.

Ben Bernanke has shown he will go the extra mile to help the stock market go higher. While it ultimately will end in a bubble collapse, he shows no fear. Based on the move today, smart traders are watching to see if this move higher in the SPY will take out the 52 week high at $141.28. In addition, can it last longer than one day. These will be keys to understanding the sustainability of the rally.

The Ps stabilized in their shallow pullback, forming a "flag" type
pattern. The Quack continued to trade sideways. And, the Rusty
dipped but reversed to come back nicely.

Some of the sectors that have lost some momentum as of late came
back on Friday.

Overall, the market and most sectors remain in uptrends.

So what do we do? Coming into today I'm still seeing a few setups.
Therefore, continue to look to add some new positions. Since the
futures are strong, look to take partial profits on existing
positions and trail your stops higher. It's too back there's not a

The stock stock displayed some impressive relative strength with a 6.81% gain. After consolidating in between the 10.45 resistance and the 9.81 support for over three weeks, the stock finally broke out from its consolidation and marked a new month's high of 10.96. Therefore, the 10.45 level is now the support level. At the mean time the 20 and 50 SMA shall continue serving as the dynamic support to the stock. On the daily chart basis, the technical indicators are looking better now for the stock. The rising of the MACD histogram suggests a weakening of the bearish signal and MACD line has a positive crossover. In addition, the bullish crossover in the ADX chart adds to my conviction. Besides, the breakout was accompanied by volume. Based on technical reasons, there is a near term to midterm opportunity for shares of ZAGG to rebound to higher levels. A move above $11.73 could spark a huge short-squeeze. Short % of Float 48.8%. Potential upside of 100% exists for Zagg Inc, based on a current level of $10.66 and analysts' average consensus price target of $20.50. The stock should find initial resistance at its 200-day moving average (MA) of $11.73 and further resistance at $12. Shareholders may remain invested with a stop-loss at $9.81.

Stocks pullback modestly while bonds decelerated from its initial decline; major indices finished almost flat for the week where the S&P500 down by just half a percentage lower and the Dow Jones CBOT Treasury index added only 0.4%. Commodity was the weakest asset this week as weighed on fall in crude oil. Market sentiment was mostly on the negative side as economic data showed weaker prints relative to market expectation; where housing market remained weak on both new home sales (313k vs. 330k) and existing home sales (4.59m vs. 4.60m). Looking forward next week, investors will be focusing on consumer confidence, GDP and consumer spending as rising gasoline prices are becoming a critical economic recovery barrier.

Technical Highlights:
? Bonds decelerated from its decline, stocks turned slightly lower as fixed income rebounded.
? Stocks' internal tumbled across major equity benchmarks as the percentage of stock above 50 day moving average dropped shapely; negative divergence remains a concern as indices continue to rise while their underlying stocks keep on weakening.
? Energy stocks weighed on crude oil; offensive group remained strong in downward market environment.
? Historical returns continued to bias toward materials and energy, which become the market leading sectors.
? The yield curve came down slightly after hitting its 6 months high on the longer maturity bonds; however the 2yr rate is reaching a bullish moving average crossover, which suggests rate will remain at a high level.

Does anyone see BA with any positive future? Right now, BA is only about $1 above the 3 month low, but also about $10 short of their 52 week high.

Can anyone offer any insight into what they think will be happening with this stock? I have been holding for awhile, and it just keeps dropping, then popping back up, I am getting bored with it and think I'll sell as the price is pretty much identical to what I bought at.

The Ps pulled back a bit on Thursday. So far though, it's just that, a pullback. The Nasdaq sold off a bit. It's been consolidating lately by trading sideways. Rusty's a bit of a disappointment. It broke out recently but then came right back in.

There are some sectors such as manufacturing, energy, and chemicals that have lost some steam. Overall though, most sectors still remain in solid uptrends like the market itself.

So what do we do? Once again, with the market a little soft, I'm still seeing a few pullbacks setting up. Therefore, the plan remains the same: Continue to look to add some new positions. As usual though, just make sure you wait for entries. And, honor your stops and take partial profits as offered on existing positions just in case the next correction comes sooner rather than later. Just for grins, I put in for 1000 shares of IPO ExactTarget. Got zero allocated (as I expected after reading how it is unlikely for the 'lesser' trader to get any shares allocated (mostly these shares go to the people who have Bentley payments). So my grouching about Cramer's Dware IPO untimely advice last week was probably moot since I most likely wouldn't have received any of those shares either.

This may be a premonition for share allocation, or the lack there of, for the FaceBook IPO as well.

The Ps and the Quack ended in flatsville on Wednesday. So far, they remain in uptrends out of their recent Persistent Pullback Patterns. Once again, sooner or later we'll see some corrective action. Since the futures are weak pre-market, maybe that test will come sooner rather than later.

Will Microsoft and HP be down in future years? Apple and Dell up? Read on...

My computer broke!

So I went shopping for a new one. I like the best as I use my computer a lot. In the past I have bought Compaq, or HP...

Well the stores did not have HP's with Intel processors! I've learned from other people that non-Intel processors don't work with everything...

The latest and greatest were Dell Computers. I went with Dell and am pleased with it... That is after I "operated" on it and replaced the limited 300 watt power supply with a 700 watt power supply which had 2 PCI Express card power connectors - for my "wiz-bang" add-in dual monitor video card (another "operation").

Anyway HP is out, Dell is in!

Then I had XP and have always had Microsoft office...

The new computer came with Windows 7 and I purchased Microsoft Office 2010 (thinking I could install this and get back to work)...

What a NIGHTMARE!!!

NOTHING in Microsoft Office 2010 is as it was in previous versions. I could not do ANYTHING! All the commands are changed into a "ribbon".

Long story short, it has taken me 5 days to get Windows 7 and Office so I could use it. I used to be in the computer field and am quite good at this stuff. I pity people who are not so good at these things.

Anyway to get the "classic menu look" for Office, I had to buy an add-on from a 3rd party vendor! FYI here...
http://www.addintools.com/office2010...nal/index.html

I did some snooping around and one web site said 58% of those surveyed hate Office 2010. Some office types said they have spent 20 years learning office and now can't get any work done. Macros no longer work, etc. Tons and tons of ticked off people. And people were ticked off that they had to go to a 3rd party vendor to get the classic menu bar for Office - that Microsoft did not provide this...

Bottom line: Microsoft for some reason is not listening to their customers. Not providing the products people want. Also during the installation process, I have seen numerous screens where Microsoft wants to "monitor my computer use" to improve their products. But no where have I seen where they want to ask me (a human who makes purchasing decisions) my opinions. Not good!

And I HATE Apple....

...however with my latest experience, I am strongly going to consider Apple for my next computer purchase.

Look at the screen shots of Word for Windows -vs- Word for Mac...

Seems Apple is listening to their customers? (The people...)

The Ps and Quack started soft but recovered to make back most of their losses. You can't keep a good market down. Sooner or later they will have a more serious correction but so far, they remain in a nice uptrend out of a Persistent Pullback.

The Rusty was a bit of a disappointment. It came right back in after just breaking out. I wouldn't worry too much though. One big up day would put it back to new highs.

The Ps and Quack resumed their rally out of their recent Persistent Pullback patterns. The Rusty broke out to multi-year highs.

Futures are getting whacked pre-market. Although I'd hate the see the Rusty come right back in, this corrective action could actually be healthy for the Ps & Quack.

This corrective action exemplifies why we take profits when the market rallies and buy back on pullbacks. If you understand that, then you get it. The rest is just details. Warning: blatant pimping just ahead. Details that you can read all about in The Layman's Guide To Trading Stocks.

So what do we do?

In light of this weakness, honor your stops on existing positions and wait for entries on new ones.

For those looking for an S & G type trade, look to play an opening gap reversal in the index ETFs should it occur.
